Danish Mid-century ceramic vase from the Royal Copenhagen “Baca” series. Manufactured in the 1970s.

The decor with stylised apples was designed by Danish designer Johanne Gerber and the shape was designed by Nils Thorsson.

The “Baca” series was initiated in 1964 by the artistic director of Aluminia Nils Thorsson. Beside Nils Thorsson himself several female Scandinavian designers created designs for the series. The decoration was based on a silk print technic where the firing process played a large rolle on how the colors turned out. This means that each “Baca” piece has an unique expression. In 1969 Aluminia got part of Royal Copenhagen and the “Baca” series continued with the Royal Copenhagen brandname.

The vase is fully marked on bottom.
