Sweden, 1950´s

SOLD

Ceiling lamps model T-642 were designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by his company in Sweden during the 1950s. This pendant light is crafted entirely from brass and reflects Jakobsson’s signature method of using layered components to control light diffusion and reduce glare.

The lamp features a cylindrical central body encircled by evenly spaced horizontal brass discs. These circular slats form a louvered construction that permits indirect light to filter through the gaps, creating a soft, ambient illumination. The lower section is closed by a flat brass diffuser that directs light downward while allowing lateral diffusion through the slats. The exterior surface has a polished finish with some patination and minor surface marks consistent with age, lending the piece a distinct vintage character.

Measuring 17 cm in diameter and 22 cm in height (approximately 6.7 inches wide and 8.7 inches tall).   Its compact size and layered design make it suitable for both standalone use and clustered arrangements in rows or groups.
